Star Fund Grassroots Action Grants & Movement Leadership Grants:
Purpose of grants: Since 2003, North Star's activist-led grants programs have supported new or small groups with annual budgets of less than $350,000. Continuing this tradition, Grassroots Action Grants support new, emerging and small groups engaged in community organizing and base building to build leadership and grassroots activism in New York City's marginalized communities. Grant Amounts: $5,000 or $10,000. Eligible Groups: Organizations with annual budgets under $350,000 engaged in community organizing.

The World We Want
Foundation: The foundation promotes and supports Young Global Citizens making positive social change in their communities and around the world. We believe that Young Global Citizens have the passion, talent, determination, and power to create positive social change when given the resources to help them address societal and environmental challenges. They offer micro grants of $500-$5,000.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW): The AAUW Community Action Grants Program annually provides funds to individuals, AAUW branches, and AAUW state organizations as well as local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs and non-degree research projects that promote education and equity for women and girls.
The program's one-year grants ($2,000
to $7,000) provide funding for community-based projects. Two-year grants
($5,000 to $10,000) provide start-up funds for new projects that address the
particular needs of the community and develop girls' sense of efficacy through
leadership or advocacy opportunities.

NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD): Discretionary funds are funds that nonprofit, community-based social
service providers use to meet the needs of local communities. The funds are
allocated by the members of the New York City Council.

Receive $200 for Hosting a Conversation on Immigration: Community-based groups and organizations are eligible to receive a $200 stipend from the New York Council for the Humanities for hosting a Community Conversation by registering to be a featured site. Featured sites must register their event in advance and complete a final evaluation, including attendance information. Facilitators at featured sites are required to attend a free 60-minute facilitator-training webinar. Training webinars will be offered at the following throughout the summer and fall; see the Council's webinars page to learn more and sign up.
